John Showell MSc CEng MIET
Mark Lindsay BSc CEng MIET
Mark Lindsay joined as a co-director and co-owner of Product Approvals Ltd in January 2014.
Mark brings over 12 years’ experience in the compliance engineering field to the company and is putting it to very good use as a product safety consultant and director of the company.
Having previously worked as a test laboratory engineer in a busy commercial safety and EMC test laboratory, and more recently as a senior compliance engineer specialising in product safety for a global electronics manufacturer, Mark's experience and skills have enabled us to set up a well-equipped product safety test laboratory and some EMC test capability is now being added to better serve our customer’s needs.
Mark sits on the Underwriters Laboratories UL 50 / 50E (Enclosures for electrical equipment environmental / non-environmental) and UL 840 (Insulation co-ordination) Standards Technical Panels and will contributes to the further development of these standards. He is well versed in many others standards across several compliance fields.
Working together with business partner John Showell, Mark is actively developing the business with the focus on serving our customers in the best way possible.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, enjoying days out and also walking and cycling. Mark is also a keen golfer.
Neil has worked in the compliance industry since 1999 when he joined the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) where he worked his way up to the position of Technical Manager (Laboratory). At the LIA Neil played a key role in gaining new laboratory certifications and training staff in laboratory processes. His practical test experience as well as immense knowledge of lighting safety standards is being put to very good use in his role at Product Approvals Ltd.
In Neil's last role at Cranage EMC and Safety, he worked as LVD Laboratory Manager where he managed a small team of engineers within the safety testing laboratory. Whilst in this role he greatly expanded his knowledge of standards, and technologies and testing processes.
Recently Neil has become responsible for managing some key client management service accounts in lighting and other industry sectors here at Product Approvals Ltd and he is a tremendous asset to the team.
Neil's interests outside of work include radio control modelling, caravanning, and he is a keen walker.
Andy Salisbury IEng MIET
Andy Salisbury took a well-earned retirement in 2015 after many years of faithful service in a 30 year career in the compliance industry. Where did all the time go Andy!!
We were fortunate to benefit from Andy’s services in a consultancy and advisory capacity to our company during 2014, and he still gives us the benefit of his tremendous experience but on a very limited basis now that he is retired, and when he can fit it in between rounds of golf, gardening and holidays!
Andy Salisbury has worked in the technical compliance business for over 30 years initially taking telecommunication products through acceptance with the Post Office (later British Telecom) whilst working for GEC Telecommunications and Mitel, then working as a consultant for 17 years, 10 years of which were as Technical Director of TTA Communications a telecommunications design and approval consultancy.
Andy was the UK sales manager for KEMA Quality and TUV Rheinland UK Ltd. In these roles he was responsible for technical and regulatory consultancy, project management and sales management of most types of electrical, electronic and machinery projects, and international product certification. Andy also worked for TRaC Global Ltd as an R&TTE sales applications engineer.
